Jobsworths
What is the correct word, term or the psychological definition used for a jobsworth? I'm not talking about the usual meaning of applied to petty bureaucrats, little Hitlers, Blakey off On the Buses, those who relish in wielding what little power they have to the misery of others. No, I mean those who do have some power or authority in their domain or workplace, such as, I don't know, a head teacher perhaps, who slavishly follow rules, procedures, invoke protocols, without engaging their brain. Or they do engage their brain but just not up to the job; they are just not up to the job - they've been promoted above their competence, they are so overwhelmed with the challenges that face them, they are incapable of exercising proper judgement. And I mean ordinary, simple common sense - the bleeding obvious. They slavishly follow rules to mask this glaring absence.
I'm sure there is a word for it but I just cannot find it. Mind you, when it comes describing the Head Teacher at my *********'s ******l, words fail me. Dealing with her usually leaves me utterly exasperated . I'm usually forced to delve into my rich lexicon of Anglo Saxon or Germanic words to find the motte juste. It's usually Germanic to be fair. For the avoidance of doubt: Cunt.
N.B. This article has been dedacted to protect the identity of the cunt concerned*
* when I say dedacted, I mean redacted - I'm just being sarcastic (it's a word she uses).
